Savory Veggie Toast

Ingredients 

- 6-8 slices of bread (white or wheat bread)
-1 cup besan flour
-1/2 teaspoon garam masala
-1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
-1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds
-1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon green chili, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1/2 cup finely diced onion
- 1/4 cup cilantro

Steps

1. Mix all ingredients, besides onions and cilantro, in a large bowl.
2. Add water to form a pancake batter-like consistency and set aside for 5-7 minutes.
3. Add the onions and cilantro to the batter.
4. Heat the pan and add oil if needed.
5. Cut each slice of bread in half (we prefer diagonally).
6. Dunk each slice in the batter, making sure to coat both sides evenly.
7. Cook on the pan until each side is golden brown.
8. Serve hot with ketchup and/or green chutney, or any condiment you like!
