Stuffed Shells

Ingredients

- 1 box of Jumbo Shell pasta
- 1 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Pasta Sauce

- 1 jar of pasta sauce (any brand)
- 1/2 teaspoon red crushed pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Salt, to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon dried chopped onions
- 1-2 cloves garlic, minced

Ricotta Filling

- 1 15 oz. ricotta cheese
- 2 cups spinach, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon red crushed pepper
- Salt, to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Boil and cook the jumbo shells according to the box instructions. Make sure you add a pinch of salt and a bit of oil to the water when boiling. Drain and set aside.
  3. Make the ricotta filling by mixing together all the ingredients required.
  4. Season and heat up the pasta sauce.
  5. Take each cooked shell and fill generously with the ricotta filling.
  6. In a glass tray, lay down a thin layer of pasta sauce and organize the shells into rows.
  7. Pour the sauce over each individual shell and top with a handful of mozzarella cheese.
  8. Place the tray into the oven and cook until the cheese is melted and the sauce is bubbling (about 15-20 minutes). Overcooking may result in dry shells.
  9. Serve hot with garlic bread and/or Italian salad!
